Mt. Field National Park, one of Tasmania’s oldest national parks, offers a range of short walks, including the renowned Russell Falls and Tall Trees track. Located just a 1.5-hour drive from Hobart, this park is a haven for nature lovers.

Our adventure begins with the Three Falls Circuit and Tall Trees Walk.  This moderately easy walk showcases the highlights of Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and the Tall Trees Track. You can choose to explore one or two waterfalls, depending on your sense of adventure.

We’ll start with a visit to Russell Falls, Tasmania's most iconic waterfall, known for its stunning three-tiered drop. The walk to the falls is enjoyable and easy, winding through a beautiful forest filled with mixed and temperate rainforest species. After soaking in the breathtaking views, we’ll continue our journey.

Next, we’ll ascend the stairs to Horseshoe Falls, a majestic waterfall nestled in the forest, often regarded as even more impressive than Russell Falls. From here, we’ll proceed along the Three Falls Circuit to the Tall Trees Track, where towering Swamp Gums, the tallest flowering plants in the world at around 80 meters, loom above us.

We’ll conclude our exploration with a lunch break in one of the park’s picturesque picnic spots, allowing you to relax and recharge.

Afterward, we’ll head to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a cherished haven for rescued wildlife. Here, you’ll encounter the famous Tasmanian Devils, along with wombats and echidnas, all in a beautiful, natural setting. Wallabies roam freely throughout the park, and many of our local favorites await discovery. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and appreciate these incredible animals up close.

We depart Bonorong and drop you back to Hobart Waterfront around 4.00pm - 4.30pm.
